frosted flake halloumi sticks with garlic aioli 🧄

this recipe was inspired by my girlfriend’s favorite entree as a kid, planet hollywood's captain crunch chicken. recipe is for two & can be made with frosted or corn flakes depending on how sweet you want your sticks to be.


Recipe


ingredients:

1 block halloumi

5 cups frosted flakes

2 eggs

2 cups flour

1 ts salt, black pepper, & sweet paprika

3 cups olive oil

1 tbsp mayonnaise

1 tbsp plain yogurt

1 garlic clove

1 lemon

1/2 tbsp ketchup

1 ts chives & rosemary


procedure:

  1. crush the frosted flakes in a bowl with your hands. crack egg into a separate bowl & season with salt, black pepper, & sweet paprika

  2. put flour into another separate bowl

  3. cut the halloumi block into long rectangular strips. dip halloumi into the flour, then the egg, & finally in the crushed frosted flakes

  4. add olive oil in a large pan frying pan on high heat before frying your crusted halloumi sticks until golden brown n& crispy

  5. for the aioli sauce simply mix the mayonnaise, yogurt, crushed clove of garlic, lemon juice, & chives together

  6. stack the fried halloumi sticks on a plate & garnish with garlic aioli, ketchup & rosemary

  7. iss / mange / eat!
